June 8th Last Day to Register
Plans continue to come together for the annual Sam Steele Days Parade in Cranbrook, on Saturday, June 16th at 10:15am sharp and the search is on for registrants.
The deadline for registration is Friday, June 8th explains Parade Chair Liz Schatschneider. "Usually we get a flood of calls and entries right at the last minute, that is why we are asking people to register early." If you haven't received your registration forms please call the Sam Steele Hotline. The entry fee is only $10 and this year there is tons of cash and trophies to be won. Categories include best overall float, best antique car, best heavy horse and wagon, best mounted horse, best marching band and many more.
As it has in the past the parade will follow a downtown route. It will start at Balment Park and run along 1st Street to 8th Avenue. From there, it will go down Baker Street and Kootenay Street before finishing at 4th Street North.
